The opening ceremony of the Orbion transport hub, which will become the most important infrastructure object of the technology park, took place in the Skolkovo Innovation Center. Multimodal transport hub (MMTU) "Orbion" was opened simultaneously with the commissioning of the railway station "Innovation Center" Skolkovo ". Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov, head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozyorov, co-chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation Arkady Dvorkovich and chairman of the board of directors of SAFMAR Mikhail Gutseriev attended the grand opening ceremony of the complex.
The launching of the hub into operation will allow residents, students and guests of Skolkovo to get to the main park facilities from Belorussky railway station in less than half an hour. It is expected that by 2020 the capacity of Orbion will reach 30,000 people per day.
The multi-modal transport hub "Orbion" is a modern architectural complex consisting of a railway platform, a land passage to the territory of the Skolkovo innovation center through Minskoye Highway, areas where trade and service enterprises and a business center are located. The total area of the complex will be almost 70,000 square meters, which makes it one of the largest transport and infrastructure facilities in the Moscow region.
The project developer was the AND Corporation (part of the SAFMAR group), which takes an active part in shaping the future look of the main innovation park in Russia.
